The 10 day Vipassana course learnt me to sit completely still in meditation for one hour… to not move even when something itches..
It brouht me to the difference of reacting and responding.
When anger, fear or sadness arises we can react out to someone or hold it and supress it in to ourselves. When heavy thoughts come seaping in we go along with this one thought untill its a complete horror story.
We react in order to distract ourselves from the sensation or get lost in its scattering ways of moving.
IN OTHER WORDS WHEN IT ITCHES WE SCRATCH!
Vippasana meditation thought me to stay present with the sensation… nothing more, nothing less…. stay present and hold space… so when it itches and you don’t scratch.. you let it itch untill the itch scratches itself…YEAHH!!
And suddenly theres so much more space to feel, hear and know your inner callings and you no longer confuse them with the inflamed reactions and stories of your emotioms and sensations.
So if you like, try it out:
When inflamed reaction comes up, don’t react out or surpress in…. hold space and let it itch untill it scratches itself.
